A sustained protest season shapes London operations into July
City of London Police have indicated that the campaign activity which began with June's "Month of Action" against financial institutions is expected to continue through July, with the arms trade, migrant detention and Palestine remaining the principal focus areas.
What has happened
June saw a coordinated month of demonstrations directed at City of London financial institutions, alongside short-lived but serious public disorder that began in Belfast on 9 June and spread briefly to parts of Scotland and England before subsiding. Police assessments now point to a sustained public-order picture rather than a set-piece calendar of single events.
No fixed dates or locations have been confirmed for July. The British Security Industry Association has advised premises to review security arrangements for the period and to report suspicious activity.
